Answer: A. Reduce blood pressure by increasing the diameter of the blood vessels

Step-by-step explanation:

The atherosclerosis is a condition in which the arteries are affected. In this condition the cholesterol and fat gets deposited as plaque inside the walls of the arterial blood vessels. The plaque restricts the flow of blood to various organs of the body even the heart and increases the blood pressure. Exercise proves to be beneficial in fighting against the atherosclerosis. As during the exercise the muscles requires more oxygenated blood. The heart, and lungs becomes activated during this process. The blood pressure reduces during this process the blood overcomes the restriction of the plaque and allows the widening of the blood vessels by slowly dissolving the plaque.
