A rigid transformation (also called an isometry) is a transformation of the plane that preserves length. Reflections, translations, rotations, and combinations of these three transformations are "rigid transformations".

Answer with explanation:

  • The rotation is a rigid transformation that maps the image of a figure same shape and size by rotating it about the the center of rotation.

The main properties of rotation are as follows :-

1. The rotation preserves side-length and angles.

2. It creates congruent figures.

3. The rotations of 360° map a figure onto itself.

4. The lines connecting the center of rotation to the pre-image and the corresponding point on the image have equal length.
