Atticus ruined Bob's image in front of the whole town because he was able to prove that Mayella was in fact beat by Bob. This not only hurt his image, but ensured that the entire court understood who was the real criminal. However, even then some people did not care and went to accused Tom of a crime he had not done.Bob felt angry and wanted revenge.
