1: the city- states of Italy are on the Mediterranean Sea and were the centers for trade and brought new ideas.
2: Italy was tye most important part of the Roman Empire which many of the Greeks and romans went to because the Byzantine empire collapsed. And the Greeks and romans brought a ton of ideas to the renaissance.
3: the Holy Roman Empire lost power in north Italy. So merchants gained power and changed the laws of trade and shipping and Resulted in engaged trade of goods and ideas.
4: the bubonic plague affected Italy (Florence) majorly
5: Italy was small and so it was considered to strengthen and promote individualism and creativity
