How do u do slope intercept word problems

The meanings of slope and y-intercept in the context of word problems.in the equation of a straight line when the equation is written as y=MX+b,the slope is the number m that is multiplied on the x,and b is the y intercept,where the line crosses the y-axis.

So the slope in a word problem would be whatever in the problem that says "per" after it. An example would be like 5 per pound. Then your slope would be 5.

Intercept in a word problem would be the Starting point/ starting value. Like how much you start off with.
