The US military only had about 12,000 men, including "so many inexperienced officers and recruits."“too many incompetent officers and too many raw, untrained recruits,” Canada was also favored on a lot of things during the war: like having the British control the Great Lakes which then helped move supplies and troops better. Moreover, the British received support from Canadians, than Americans. They were tactically unprepared with the war even on their logistics.
