There are basically two categories of synthetic fuels. First is the synthetic crude fuel and the second one is the fischer tropsch liquids. Synthetic crude fuel include feedstock and processes that are used to produce a syncrude. Synthetic crude fuel can also be used for the same purposes as of the conventional crude uses.
