Increased dopamine activity is associated with symptoms similar to hose seen in schizophrenia, wheras reduced dopamine activity produces symptoms similar to those seen in Parkinson's disease. There is a dopamine level over activity in schizophrenic individuals which causes their hallucinations. Parkinsons disease, however, has reduced dopamine level that is a factor for motor control.
