What are the effects of narcotics on. the nervous system?

Ok, so narcotics are drugs that work as a central nervous system "CNS". It basically slows down the neural activity in your brain and body. The drug dulls the senses, relieves pain, and induces profound sleep, but excessive doses can cause stupor, coma, or convulsions if not used properly.
