What is the theme of the help?

racism is the main theme in the book. In 1962 Mississippi there were no such things as slaves but the "help" were not far removed. African-Americans were still considered to be low class if they were considered to be a part of society at all.

The help shows us the inner working of a segregated society, that you should never judge another race before actually knowing them, because you don't know and probably don't understand the everyday struggles they have.

I got this theme from the movie, its a good movie i love it
