Why is the temperature in the summer is usually lower near the ocean or another body of water.

because water is transparent and the land is not, solar radiation goes through the water and does not create heat, so the temperature is cooler above the water. The ground cause the radiation to bounce off and give off heat to make the temperature warmer.
