How was south carolina constitution of 1868 different from earlier versions?

The 1868 Carolina constitution is more concerned of the majority. It allows the vote of the population for a governor. This makes participation more democratic because it gives the opportunity to everyone and disregards one's race or illiteracy as a barrier to voting. It also allowed more social rights to everyone.
