Why do disaccharides produce more co2 than monosaccharides??

Answer:

Explanation: Disaccharides are the sugar which are formed by the combination of two Monosaccharides .

Monosaccharides are the class of sugar which cannot be hydrolyzed further.

Thus when Disaccharides undergo the process of combustion, more of the carbon dioxide will generate and it will be generated twice as much in comparison to that of monosaccharides.

Disaccharides are able to produce more CO2 than monosaccharides because they are formed from two monosaccharides which are binded together. So, when burned more CO2 could be formed or twice as much CO2. Hope this answers the question.
