What military tactics were used by Vietcong and how did us troops respond

Don't look down apon me because I'm in middle school but here goes.
The Vietcong troops used a tactic called gorilla warfare, Basically they would not group up into groups more than 200 to avoid being bombed. The US replied using a similar strategy.
