Find the outlier in the following set of data. 4.7, 3.4, 4.2, 0.5, 4.8, 5.6, 5.4, 5.9

The outlier is 0.5. It is clearly not in the same 'range' of data as the rest.

0.5 because it is the number that is the furthest away from any other number. Outliers are numbers that don't correlate with the rest of the data.
