False!

I believe they did it because the British government would make stuff overpriced for the colonists just so that they can earn a lot of money out of it and that angered the colonists so they started to boycotting items and that led to the Revolutionary war were the colonists went against British soldiers to see who had control over The New Land and at the end the colonists won and that's what made The United States Of America a free land!
