Why do you think Hades asked Zeus for Persephone's hand in marriage instead of trying to win her love?

Answer:

As you may know, Zeus and Hades were brothers, and Hera was their sister. During that era, it was okay to marry your family members. Hera, who no doubt knew that Zeus had already had six different lovers, spurned his romantic overtures. However, Hades fell in love with Persephone in a heartbeat. That was because Aphrodite, the goddess of love, wanted to prove to her son, Eros, that she could make anyone fall in love.
