A fungus started growing on some certain types of potatoes. All potatoes were the same in Ireland, and they use the potatoes as a main food source, they had to move to the Americas. That effect gave America a ton of new immigrants. This was a negative effect for Ireland because of its loss of food. It negatively effected America because they were many immigrants coming in.
