When a shotgun fires, a sequence of events takes place. After the hunter pulls the trigger, what is the next event in the sequence?

Expanding gas drives the shot through the barrel.
The firing pin strikes the primer.
A spark ignites the gunpowder.

THe firing pin strikes the primer. That comes first, the spark ignites the gun powder, the powder burns into a gas, the gas is shot out of the barrel

The next step is that “The firing pin strikes the primer”.

A sequence of events occur when a shotgun fires, where one leads another. When the hunter pulls the trigger, firstly the firing pin strikes the primer. Then, a spark takes place which ignites the gunpowder. When gunpowder burns, it converts into gas and expands which eventually drives the shot through the barrel. This is how a shotgun fires.
