Take a magnet whose north pole you know. Keep the north pole to one end of the unmarked magnet.
- If it repels: it is the north pole of the unmarked magnet
- If it attracts: it is the south pole of unmarked magnet

If we have an unmarked magnet, how can we tell which end is the north pole of the magnet?
