Inside cells
It is called the lytic and lysogenic cycle. A virus finds a host cell where it injects its DNA and then during cell division and reproduction the DNA is also replicated and transferred into a new cell. Then the DNA directs the cell to create the body of viruses and then the DNA detaches from the dna of host cell and then the virus combines to the body and leaves the cell.
