Describe what are sex cells?

The ovum, plural ovae (latin) produced in the female bodies of mammals ovaries are the female sex cells.
The sperm are the male sex cells. Produced in the testes.
When sperm and ovum meet, there is a chance that they could join together and thus start a new life. Process is called fertilisation
