How is each state's representation in the house of representatives determined?

They number of representatives is determined by the state's population. Each state has at least one regardless, however.

Each state's representation in the House of Representatives is determined by their population. States with larger populations, like California, Texas, New York,etc. have many more representatives in comparison to states like Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota. The establishment of the House of Representatives during the Constitutional Convention was to ensure that states with more people were represented fairly in the legislative branch of the government.
