Dugesia refers to the genus of dugesiid triclads, which comprises some usual representatives of the class Turbellaria. These usual flatworms are observed in the freshwater habitats of Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.
The digestion tract in Dugesia comprises of a central non-pigmented tubular pharynx. The gut of Dugesia comprises three ramified branches like other triclads. Each of the branches contains ceca that distribute the nutrients to the entire body.
