the tree in the backyard is 6 years old and 30ft it has grown. it has grown 3ft a year since it was planted. How tall was it when it was planted?

since the tree was planted 6 yrs ago and grew 3ft since then that makes 18 ft total then you take the total height witch is 30 and subtract 30 from 18 you get 12
