Viruses are not alive, bacteria are.
Viruses must replicate in a host cell; bacteria can replicate on their own
Viruses are much smaller
Viruses have a protein layer called caspid
Viruses cannot be killed with antibiotics; bacteria can be. (If you have a virus that makes you sick, you can only treat the symptoms, not the actual bug itself)
