What is the difference between velocity and acceleration?

Velocity is how fast and acceleration is like: Something starts off slow and over time it goes faster

While velocity is your speed, or how fast you are moving, acceleration refers to how your velocity is changing. For example, a negative acceleration means you are slowing down
