- When the heart forcefully contracts, the blood is pushed into the blood vessels through the aorta from the left ventricle which in turn increases the blood pressure in the blood vessels.
- The increase in pressure in the blood vessels is called the systolic blood pressure which is as a result of contraction of the heart.
