3/4 of 12 is 9

3/4 = x/12
cross multiply...4x = 36
36/4 = 9

To find 3/4 of 12, you do 3/4 multiplied by 12

So you multiply the numerators and leave that over the denominator first
3/4*12 becomes 36/4

Now it can be simplified to 9 because both the numerator and denominator are divisible by 4. So the answer is 9
