Displacement is the total distance from the start point, so what you want to say is that in total, If he moves 0.11 km in 60 minutes (km/h) then in 30 minutes he simply moved 0.055 km (half of 0.11 km)

Answer:

55 m eastward

Step-by-step explanation:

The relationship between velocity, displacement and time is:

v=(d)/(t)

where v is the velocity, d the displacement and t the time.

In this problem, we know:

-
v=0.11 km/h eastward is the velocity of the sloth

-
t=30.0 min = 0.5 h is the time of the motion

Therefore, we can find the displacement of the sloth by re-arranging the previous formula:

d=vt=(0.11 km/h)(0.5 h)=0.055 km = 55 m

and the direction is the same as the velocity (eastward).
