Answer: Some animals like lion do not eat plants or any other producer because they are secondary consumers and they feed on other small animals for their energy source.

The small animals like rabbit feed on plants for their energy needs. They obtain carbon from the plants. In this way the primary producers get the carbon in their food.

The secondary consumers like lion feed on them and get the carbon from the these animals.
