The idea and creation of a smallpox vaccine greatly impacted our views of science today. The creation of the vaccine enabled people to live longer and healthier lives and enabled new studies in this area of science. This was also the first vaccine to be made and led to the study of more ways different vaccines help other diseases such as chicken pox etc.
