What is the simplest form of 10x+5 subtracted from 4x-9 (please tell me the steps too)

First, go ahead and set it up:


4x-9-(10x+5)

Now since you're subtracting that whole term, you must change the signs:


4x-9-10x-5

And now you simplify:


-14-6x

Then you can take out a -2 if you want:


-2(7+3x)

And that's your final answer!
