Lordosis or lumbar curvature in the spine is normal in both men and women. Temporary lordosis or exaggerated lordosis is advantageous in late pregnancy because it helps balancing of pregnant women when walking. During this stage, there is a forward shift in center of gravity. To compensate for this shift, pregnant women experiences temporary lordosis.
