Ancient India created a farming method. They found a way to harness the benefit of constant flooding in the area surrounding Indus River through planting cotton and sesame. Constant flooding in Ancient India brought thick nutrient rich silts in farmlands that inhibit growth of other agricultural plants. They plant cotton and sesame before rains begin and harvesting after the flood waters recede to the river.
