40% of students at Rock-ledge Middle school are musicians. 75% of those musicians have to read sheet music when they play their instruments. If 38 students can play their instruments without reading sheet music, how many students are there at Rock-Ledge Middle School?

Please answer this from my math problem set due Monday! And plz explain i dont understand it all that well. The help would be nice thank you so much!

There are 380 students at Rock-Ledge Middle School.

To figure it out, you have to start by figuring out the total amount of students in band. If 38 = 25% then 38 x 3 = 75% so 114 = 75%. That means there are 152 students in band. That means 40% of the students are in band. Because 20s are easier to work with, you can transfer the 40% to 20% which equals 76. If 76 = 20% then 76 x 4 = 100% so the total number of students is 380!
