The amount of lands owned by Britain and France increased the rivalry with Germany who had entered the scramble to aquire colonies late and only had small area of Africa.

mperialism played a major role in Germany's increasing anger with Britain and France because they felt they had too little room to grow, and that Britain and France were treating them unfairly--therefore they had the right to take land.
