Bacterial cell walls contain peptidoglycan, which makes them different from other organisms.
The other name for the "Peptidoglycan" is "Murein". This is made of sugars and amino acids and makes a layer outside the plasma of a bacteria. Both gram positive and gram negative cell walls contain peptidoglycan.
