.2+3.6=3.8 because all you do is add the .2 feet with 3.6 feet

Answer:

H_(x) = 3.8ft

Explanation:

Thinking process:

Let the problem be expressed like this:

The water level in the high tide be given by:
H_(x)

The water level in the high tide be given by:
L_(x)

The difference between the two is given by the equation:
H_(x) -L_(x) = 3.6

The height in in low tide is 0.2 ft, so the equation becomes:

H_(x) - 0.2 = 3.6 \\H_(x) = 3.8ft
