This basically means freedom of speech. This means that a newspaper or television source could publish anything story, no matter how controversial.

Mostly, freedom of the press means that television, newspapers, magazines and other media sources can publish truthful reports—even if they are controversial—without interference from the government. The protection offered by the First Amendment wasn't always clear.
