Explain how the multiplication property for inequalities differs from that of equations

it doesnt differ lets take 10 = 6 + 4 multiply thru by a negative and flip the sign -10 = -6 - 4 flipping an equals sign about seems redundant, but the process works nonetheless having two separate rules for solving inequalities and equalities seems pointless
