first , in order to find the answer you need to add the add the numerators which are 5 and 2 = 7 and then you need to find a common denominator.

It can' be 11/12 because 5/6 nearly equals a whole number. Even when you add 1/3, the sum will be greater than one. The correct sum to 5/6 and 2/3 is 9/6, or reduced to 1 1/2.
