Considered the greatest piece of Old English and Anglo-Saxon literature, Beowulf is an epic poem that narrates the heroic deeds of the eponymous character who ventures in Denmark to serve his King, Hrothgar, by seeking to defeat a devilish creature called Grendel, who has been tormenting the kingdom and its people.
