How did Roosevelt’s economic pressure lead Japan to attack Pearl Harbor? Why was Pearl Harbor an “open target”?

Well, Roosevelt had stopped all oil supplies that would be traded with Japan to stop, therefore Japan would have its main oil source destroyed. They needed oil so they would attack Pearl Harbor who was unaware of any attack. Also it was an Island and only had a few defences.
