You can write (6x=10)=(-4x-20), because both expressions are equal to the same thing, so they're equal to each other. From that, you easily solve for 'x', and then write that number back into one of the original equations to find 'y' .

You can use substitution or elimination or graphing to solve the equation. Since both of the equations are in slope intercept form it will be easier to use substitution or to graph it and find the point of interception.
