PEMDAS =
Parenthesis
Exponents
Multiply
Divide
Add
Subtract

5+2-9-4+7=? Remember that you have to add first, because of PEMDAS.

(5+2+7) + (-9-4) = ?

We put these in parenthesis to show what we are adding and subtracting together.

(14) + (-13) = ?
