Jenny wants to paint the ceiling of her restaurant. the ceiling is in the shape of a square. its side lengths are 44 feet. suppose each can of paint will cover 242 square feet. how many cans will she need to paint the ceiling?

First we need to find the square footage of her ceiling, since it's a square just multiply the side by the side: 44•44=1936. Now divide the square feet by how many feet each can can paint: 1936/242=8. Jenny would need exactly 8 cans of paint to paint her ceiling :)
