The Roman Republic ended when Julius Caesar returned home triumphant against Carthage. When Julius returned home, many Romans hailed Julius as a Caesar, and that prompted him to step up and lead Rome. The Senate, however, disapproved, and stabbed him too death in a attempt to keep the Republic.
