n^2 + 2n + 1 = 2n + 50 - Square both sides
n^2 + 2n + 1 - 2n - 50 = 0
n^2 - 49 = 0 - simplify
(n + 7)(n - 7) = 0 factor
n + 7 = 0. n - 7 = 0
n = -7, n = 7
