The right option is; b. improve fertility

Bacteria are ubiquitous microorganisms that can be found anywhere including soil. Some bacteria such as Rhibozium, Azotobacter and Azospirillium improve soil fertility by enriching the soil with various nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. They also improve the soil structure and they decompose organic matter in the soil which provides nutrients for plant growth.
